CELEBRITY chef Paul Heathcote has recently launched a new initiative to create budding young cooks of the future.
Youngsters of all ages are invited to the Olive Press restaurant in Liverpool for a fun packed interactive cookery class with an experienced head chef.
And at the same time, as the children are learning to cook, mother and father can enjoy a Sunday roast from just £8.95 while any toddlers can eat for free. Paul decided to run the scheme as a way of educating youngsters about healthy food and at the same time to teach them basic cookery skills.
He said: “So many kids now see convenience food as the norm, rather than the exception”.
“It is important that they know from an early age the importance of a healthy diet and how much pleasure can come from preparing a meal from local, fresh ingredients.”
The classes are free and will be held every Sunday at the Olive Press on Castle Street. This latest scheme is an adaptation of the Chefs Adopt a School programme which the Olive Press Liverpool is proud to support in conjunction with the Academy of Culinary Arts.
Paul added: “The Academy does a lot of great work with young people and plays a vital role in educating a new generation of consumers.”
The Daily Telegraph recently rated the Olive Press as one of the Top 10 family-friendly restaurants in the UK..
