Out has come the tinsel and decorations as work has begun on building Santa’s Lapland Journey – an integral part of the zoo’s annual Frost Fair extravaganza.
A new line-up has been revealed for this year’s event, which opens on November 27 and runs until January 11. Alongside the ever-popular ice rink there will be a host of entertainment to keep visitors enthralled.
The fun includes the amazing Silver Man who will be entertaining the crowds with firejuggling and stilt walking during weekends and school holidays, there will be the popular Santa’s Lapland Journey, the loveable characters Waddle and Frosty, and a carousel.
Liz Thwaite, Head of Visitor Services, said: “Most people are loathe to start thinking about Christmas but here at Chester Zoo we’ve been planning for it for some months now.
“We are pulling out all the stops this year to ensure visitors have a dazzling time and we have another big Frost Fair surprise up our sleeves which we will be announcing in the next few weeks.”
